I am a 31 year old programmer. I have no formal education, dropping out in the 7th grade. I started programming at around 10 years old after developing an interest in building my own videos games and started my career at 15 years old as an humble PHP developer for fairly crappy websites and grinded my way to more interesting jobs over time. A couple years ago, I joined a company that had (and still has!) some very interesting problems and a couple of hundred million of users. There, I have been working on distributed services across a plethora of domains, with a focus in 2022-2024 on building an event-driven fleet of systems to power product research and runtime experimentations. Ever since, I mostly work on whatever is important that can help the company in ways that would also, hopefully, help the users. I am mostly known for my [twitter account](https://x.com/ludwigabap) and my takes or write ups on systems programming, ML, intelligence, mathematic, software engineering culture and things like being mean to San Francisco founders.

Most of my time is spent hanging out with my dog and partner, reading and programming. I might occasionally enjoy the eventual military or flight simulator. Mostly, I am trying to become a person I would like to be like. A lot of that involves circling back to my very shaky education and formalizing a lot of it.
